Coaching the Big Questions
February 26, 2023
How do you use questions to coach yourself and others?
What makes a question something you really want to stop, think about, discuss and consider a big question?
Here's an acronym for big.
The B is for BEAR UPON.
That is in what way is this question relevant? And to what is it relevant? What does it touch to? What are the larger issues that are involved in this question? What are its implications? What drives it?
What is its source? And where will it go? How will the answer to that question or just the seeking involved in asking it, change the world for you or for someone else? Bear upon.
The I is for I IGNITE.
Ignite. If it is a powerful question, if it is a big question, if it is a great coaching question, it will ignite something in all of the people who mull it over and consider it and follow it and think about it and try to answer it.
What does it ignite ?
G is for GROW.
How will this question help you and others to grow in your thinking, in the process that you apply to thinking in the issues you consider in your life?
I ask you today a big question. The big question is, is your next question a big question?
If it is, let's take all the time that's needed to work on it.
