A Cry in Distress
August 25, 2022
In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I cried for help.
From his temple he heard my voice,& my cry to him reached his ears.
Psalm 18:6
The personal context the great declaration of faith is distress.
We have all experienced it.
It is that step beyond stress where stress takes its toll and sucks the life out of us.
We are depleted and devastated. Our hands are in the air. Our white flags are waving. We are disappointed and done.
At that point, we have a choice.
To whom or what shall we surrender?
Shall we wave the flag at the distressing circumstances or discouraging voices or to the voice of hope?
The psalmist chooses hope.
He calls for help.
And he is heard.
It is your turn to choose.
Cry out!
