What if?
What if we decided to counter all the harsh, rude, vulgar statements we read online with something uplifting?
What if we determined to respond with truth to every word of misinformation and half-truth we saw and did it in separate postings?
What if we exposed every conspiracy theory by countering it with verified evidence?
What if we flooded the information market with truth, goodwill, life-affirmation, compassion, and reason. What if we held up scientists, teachers, and medical professionals as role models every time we read a criticism of them?
What if we diluted words of hate by flooding the gates with words of love?
What if we interjected positive every time we read negative?
What if we made a concerted effort to do this at least three times for every vile, ruthless, bigoted, mean-spirited, racist, misogynistic, dehumanizing online post we see?
At the very least, it might confound the perpetrators, awaken the gullible, and encourage people of good will and good sense
Can this poison be diluted?
Can this vitriol be disputed?
Can the formula be computed,
The negative refuted?What must we do and
How must we do it?Truth is under the gun.
Filth is having a run.
Scoffers are having their fun.
So let’s dilute it three for one.If you are a tweeter, then try to tweet three.
If you see an insult, don’t just let it be.
Don’t try to engage it, just enrage it with glee.
Respond with three truths for every lie you see.
