Are you a superhero?
Am I?
There is a cute, reflective, propelling, empowering "badge." I found:
I have an autoimmune disease.
What's your superpower?
That is making a positive out of a negative and I can relate since Achalasia is thought to be caused by an autoimmune disorder I can relate.
But here is the larger question:
What am I empowered to do and to be in this moment that, without this moment, could not come to pass?
AND ...
What can I do that I could not do without this burden to bear and the opportunities it brings?
I saw the badge and thought it was very clever.
It made me think and that is never an entirely bad thing.
Since I seem to have some sort of autoimmune "thingamajiggy" - not sure which one or if it has a name - I am intrigued by the possibilities.
We must receive our power in whatever manner it is given.
There is power in anything and everything because God enters into it all. If the power to attack enemy cells and organisms exists within our bodies (and it is truly a miraculous and wondrous thing!), then that power can, indeed, be turned against us like any power --- but it can also be turned toward our good and the good of others.
All things work together for good to those who love God and are called to His purpose (Romans 8:28 paraphrase).
Therefore, to hope and pray for a better resolution is always part of the process in reaching for the future -- However, it cannot be at the cost of embracing the present with all of its wonders, possibilities, and powers.
Perhaps I should study, reflect upon, and write about the mythology and complexities within the superhero genre.
There seem to be many that may or may not be apparent to all who engage and imbibe.
What am I empowered to do and to be in this moment that, without this moment, could not come to pass?
What can I do that I could not do without this burden to bear and the opportunities it brings?
If you are living with anything that is hard or frustrating in your life AND, if you are overcoming and adding value to other people, you are a super hero!
Here are songs just for you:
