What Your Soul Magnifies

Weeping and Well

"But David went up the ascent of the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went, barefoot and with his head covered. And all the people who were with him covered their heads, and they went up, weeping as they went. - 2 Samuel 15:30 ESV

It was more than just a blip in his life. It was a grand betrayal. It looked like the end. He still had faith, but it was tentative. He knew God would prevail, but he was unsure of His place in the plan. David knew the power and presence of tears and weeping.

We know so much more of his story than we do. It was a hard moment in his life.

We do not know the unwritten future, but we can know that which is written.

In the dark place, some had deserted David, but others chose to stand with him and David knew that the ark of the covenant was secure with Zadok the priest.

Peace is not dependent upon our circumstances and is not negated by our sorrows and turmoil. Faith is deeper than anything we are experiencing.

David was weeping, but it was well with his soul.
