We are named for Joseph in the bible - the one in Genesis. In Genesis 41:41 (our address and the name of our parent organization), Joseph was iven a place of influence in Egypt where he was able to bless the entire nation.

It involved feeding - probably no coffee, but lots of food!

We also have books.

What is a "Third Place?"

Recently, I was asked about the concept of the "third place" as we apply it at Joseph's.

In order to understand it, one must look at the thinking and work of a remarkable urban sociologist, Ray Oldenburg and his book, "The Great Good Place."

Hopefully, these links will provide some basic orientation to why we need third places to gather, collaborate, germinate ideas, and nurture community.

New Digs

Joseph's Java Junction (and Jazz Joint - sometimes) is moving from the back of our campus at 4141 Ministries to the front. This will happen, mostly, while "PastorRista" Tom is on vacation in Virginia.

So, the Junction will be CLOSED from March 22 through the end of March and will reopen April 1!!!!!!
