No data storage media or device lasts perpetually. That's way this is inevitable that the computer hard drive would fail at some point of time. Even if the hard drive does not fail before its warranty is up, several internal components might get damaged due to power surges, tear and wear, natural disasters and so forth.
The damage may also occur due to logical failure because of file system corruption, operating system malfunction, virus infection, hard drive formatting and other such issues. All these circumstances, cause serious data loss and require data recovery through appropriate tools, to be sorted out.

Video: Symantec Shows The Danger Of Shortened Twitter Links

We’ve been seeing this more and more in both public tweets and DMs, but luckily so far most of those have just been worms meant to replicate themselves, rather than really bad viruses. But security software company Symantec released

Advertising networks DoubleClick, YieldManager and FastClick have supplied a series of malicious banner ads to several popular legitimate websites this week.
Security vendor ScanSafe says it has discovered a series of malicious banner ads appearing on popular websites, including drudgereport.com, horoscope.com and lyrics.com. While the discovery is far from groundbreaking, it supports the recent SANS Institute report showing legitimate websites increasingly being targeted by attackers.

(CNN) -- Gmail experienced problems on Thursday, with some users reporting slowdowns and service outages.
Gmail has crashed several times in recent months.
The popular Web-based e-mail service from Google Inc. has crashed several times in recent months. That's led to a bit of anger and sarcastic sighs of despair on tech blogs and on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
Google posted a note Thursday morning saying it is aware that some people are experiencing an e-mail outage. The Mountain View, California, company said all e-mail service was working by 11 a.m. ET, and that the problems caused e-mail to slow down but did not crash the site.
"A problem with Google Contacts caused many Gmail users to experience slowness and degraded service for about an hour today," the company said in a statement. "We're sorry for the inconvenience. As usual, we'll provide an incident report on the Apps Status Dashboard, where we also gave ongoing status updates as this issue progressed."

Sydney, Australia - Sydney companies are taking precautions to ensure their data centers are safe in the face of a massive dust storm that hit the city on Wednesday in the early hours.
"This storm is carrying red dust, which is not good dust," said Craig Allen, executive director of Sydney hosting company Virtual.Offis. "It contains iron oxide, which is basically rust. By its very nature a computer is sucking air through the system and that means potential problems," he warned, as the tiny, undetectable, ferrous dust can cause short circuits and other failures inside computers.
